Why invest in Pink Diamonds?

Why invest in Pink Diamonds?

It’s no secret that pink diamonds are extremely popular right now not just for diamond lovers but I have to say for investors too.

But what makes them so special? Rarity, beauty and maybe 1.6 billion years! That’s how old they are said to be.

Since the closure of Rio Tinto’s Argyle Mine in Western Australia in 2020, supplier of over 90% of the worlds pink diamonds, this rare gem has grown in value. Along with a growing demand and developing markets such as China and India, pink diamonds have so much potential as an investment. And since 2005 they have had an average annual growth of 11.2%, it’s no wonder we love them so much.

More than all the investment benefits, I love the way they sparkle, like sunshine on the ocean when I look out my shack window on the Abrolhos Islands in the early afternoons. Their beauty is vivid yet so beautiful and alluring at the same time and each one has it’s own story to tell that was founded so long ago and will last forever.

Pink Diamonds are also priced on their colour and quality. Colour, cut, clarity, intensity, shade of colour and shape all play a part in their value. What’s interesting is their secondary colour also plays a part, brown tones are more affordable than purple tones and the more intense the colour the higher the value.
